The Chemical Compositions of the N'GENIUS SeriesTM of High Strength Austenitic Stainless Steels are strictly controlled to ensure that the optimum balance is obtained between the Austenite and the Ferrite forming elements, to ensure that the various Alloy Types, Variants and Alloy Classifications contain an Austenitic microstructure.
The N'GENIUS SeriesTM are also specified and formulated to achieve distinct minimum Pitting Resistance Equivalent (PREN or PRENW) values for each of the Alloy Types, Variants and Alloy Classifications.
As a result, the N'GENIUS SeriesTM possesses superior corrosion resistance in a wide range of process environments when compared to conventional Austenitic Stainless Steels.
The N'GENIUS SeriesTM has significantly improved Localised Corrosion resistance (Pitting Corrosion, Crevice Corrosion and Intergranular Corrosion) and can be specified and utilised in a wide range of service conditions and process media environments.
The N'GENIUS SeriesTM has significantly improved General Corrosion performance and can be specified and utilised in a wide range of service conditions and chemical process media environments.
The N'GENIUS SeriesTM possesses improved resistance to Erosion Corrosion associated with the inherent higher levels of its hardness properties and higher alloying element content when compared to conventional Austenitic Stainless Steels.
The N'GENIUS SeriesTM has improved resistance to Stress Corrosion Cracking in certain Chloride containing environments when compared to conventional Austenitic Stainless Steels. Furthermore, as the alloying element content is increased for the various higher alloyed Alloy Types, Variants and Alloy Classifications of the N'GENIUS SeriesTM, this leads to an improvement in the resistance to Stress Corrosion Cracking in more aggressive and harsher process media environments containing specific levels of Chlorides, CO2 and/or H2S.
The N'GENIUS SeriesTM of High Strength Austenitic Stainless Steels, or products made using the N'GENIUS SeriesTM, can only be manufactured by Approved Licensed Manufacturers.
